VITAMINS AND MINERALS: Vitamins & minerals are vital micronutrients that cannot be synthesized in sufficient amounts, and the principal means by which we get vitamins is through our diet. Minerals can classify as macrominerals or microminerals. Macrominerals are required in amounts greater than 100 mg per day and include calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and chloride.
